October 27, 2011 13 Nights of Hallowe'en 2011: Night 9 Night of the Demons (2010)
I have not seen the original of this Night of the Demons (2010) remake. This movie is fun. That was the overall impression I was left with. Just go with it. There are a lot of shallow connections to start. It stars Monica Keena, the star of Freddy vs. Jason (2003)--man the torpedoes!--and she was in
an episode of Ghost Whisperer (2005) in 2007. She's will also be in a forthcoming film called Remnants (2011) with Edward Furlong, and will be in Manson Girls (2011). Shannon Elizabeth was in Thir13en Ghosts (2001)--yeah!--and Cursed (2005). Tatyana Kanavka was in Autopsy (2008). John F. Beach was in a segment of Fear Clinic (2009). Michael Copon showed up in Dark House (2009). Diora Baird was also in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006), and 30 Days of Night: Dark Days (2010). Bobbi Sue Luther can be seen in The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007), Killer Pad (2008) directed by Robert Englund, a bit part in an episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008), and Laid to Rest (2010) also with Chronicles alumni. Jamie Harris is in an episode of American Horror Story (2011).
Now for a lengthier list with Edward Furlong from Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Pet Sematary II (1992), Brainscan (1994), The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005), The Visitation (2006), Dark Reel (2008), and soon in the aforementioned Remnants.
Then there is Linnea Quigley. I'll just hit her movies you might want to see like--Naughty!--Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)--Punish!--The Return of the Living Dead (1985), Creepozoids (1987), as a part of a special effect in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988), the original Night of the Demons (1988) in the role now played by Bobbi Sue Luther, Innocent Blood (1992), Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings (1994), and the forthcoming Dead End (2011), which may or may not be of interest--it has Debbie Rochon in it, whom I won't get into here.
One of the Night of the Demons writers is the director. The other writer is Jace Anderson who has credit for Spiders (2000), the Tobe Hooper movie Crocodile (2000) and it's sequel, Toolbox Murders (2004)--is it a remake or just the same name?--both Mortuary and Autopsy that were mentioned earlier, the Dario Argento movie Mother of Tears (2007) starring Asia Argento, and Fertile Ground (2011). Director Adam Gierasch has all of the same writing credits as Jace. Adam also directed Autopsy and Fertile Ground. Adam further has acting credits for Crocodile, Toolbox Murders, Mortuary, Fertile Ground, and an episode of The Others (2000) TV series--again, not related to the movie of the same name. Happy watching!
