Four Times the Killing Power

Killing Time - Horror E-Rag™ Issue 1-4 is available in the Battered Spleen Productions Store right now. It's bigger and better than ever, no mean feat. This issue's feature article changes gears from spirits last time to the undead and living dead this time in "What Kind of Dead Man Are You?" The "Horror Movie Franchise Discussion" gets deep into the story created by the trilogy that began with my all time favourite movie, Poltergeist. The two reviews in this issue are certainly something different. The first is all about the packaging of a special release DVD. That release is the collector's item Book of the Dead edition of Evil Dead--the Evil Dead trilogy was last issue's franchise discussion topic. The other review is for the novelisation of Wes Craven's New Nightmare.

Let's tackle the fiction entries backward this time. The newest instalment of "The Lizard of Hallucination" is a bit shorter than the others, but that's just because it brings the goods at breakneck speed. Paul is really starting to lose it, or the terrifying events are pushing him. The cliffhanger is a doozy that will leave you drooling for next issue. The middle story, "Suffer in Atonement", is another creepy one full of frightening implications. It brings in a couple different magical methods. Meanwhile the first story is an insidious little tale that was too big to fit in a single issue and concludes in Issue 1-5 in March. The new "Writing in the Dark" continues its look at living and writing in the dark veins. It gets into finding the balance on both sides of the pen/keyboard. Enough of me blogging, go buy your copy now!

Music: Flight of Icarus by Iron Maiden.
