State of Unformed and Rising 2009

Here we are almost at the end of another year. Has it been a good year? Well it could have been worse, it can always be worse. Sales were down at Battered Spleen Productions™; though the free audio book continues to move, so at least it's apparent the Store isn't sitting idle. Tracking I added in the new version of the store tells me different sections are being accessed even though the free audio book is on the front page. Rating of images is available in the Gallery/Grotesquerie, another site that continues to draw visitors. Efforts to draw more visitors, raise funds, and generally gain some kind of traction have not gone so well. The search for a sales or marketing person is going nowhere. Either word isn't spreading or it takes more marketing skill than I have to get a marketer. I'll discount that they're all interested in MLM scams only.

The Knowledge Base came online this year collecting the tags from most of my blogs. There are a couple more sites to be added. There are archives yet to be brought online and added. New formatting and background coding is being added to the tag pages as we speak. This change allows for counting of links within each tag and may be followed from there with some kind of visual tag cloud. I'll have to see what I can develop. This year also saw the release of Killing Time - Horror E-Rag™. The second issue will be available December 18th if not sooner. The release schedule will be the 20th of the month until all issues are out there, but of course Issue 1-2 is being expedited because of the holidays.

Speaking of which, I hope everyone has a happy, healthy, and safe Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and a fabulous New Year. See you in 2010.

Stay safe, and think green!

Marketer/Sales Person Wanted

I am the one sole person behind every facet of Battered Spleen Productions™. That means I handle the marketing, sales, public relations, and all of the business end as well as writing, coding, and art. I cannot say that I am very good at the marketing and such. I've written press releases, used Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and a bunch of other assorted social networks. I haven't had a lot of time to do it. As such I'm maybe not the best person to judge how skilled I am or am not in those endeavours. Either way I am looking to outside sources for this. I can only pay commission, not a flat rate, and the work might not even count as part time because of this. I've never had an employee and do not know what paperwork that would entail.

Still, I asked around and was told it is not abnormal to pay commission only for such a position. If you have a background in sales, marketing, public relations, or the like, and are interested in making some money for such work, please drop me a line at rmtp@batteredspleenproductions.com with indication of your qualifications, whether that is a resume or just a couple paragraphs about what you know that would make me pick you for this work. I'm looking for one person and would pay a percentage of all sales. That means whatever effort (and skill) is put into it will determine your results.

Go to Lend a Helping Hand for details of everything I am selling, including advertising space on the blogs (soon to spread even further) and in magazines, space in the market section of the store, and more.
