How to Create a Ghost
also Philips and Egrigors and Tulpas - Oh My!
  • The creating a ghost article is a deeper look at the creation of the Philip ghost by the Toronto Society for Psychical Research mentioned earlier at WraithStop™ in the "also" link above. There is even a book titled Conjuring Up Philip: An Adventure in Psychokinesis. I find this piece of history particularly interesting and keep coming back to it. The physical manifestation is one thing, but the imprinting of ideas, and notions of its past that developed beyond what the group was aware they were giving to Philip is very good fodder. There are several ideas that come to mind expanding beyond the recorded information and the speculation about why it happened as it did... ideas such as subconsciously introducing a malevolent streak, some malicious entity imprinting the false persona, and the like; or just plain dealing with it when it demands things like rights or wants an office or even a corporeal body.
