Tomb Raider is a movie based upon the popular video games of the same name featuring a butt kicking treasure hunting curvaceous female Indiana Jones type.  In the movie Lara becomes involved in the hunt for two pieces of a mystic triangle said to hold great powers for the person who wields it.  A congenial but ruthless man working for the Illuminati is after the artefact for his compatriots or himself, and he's hired Lara's rival Alex West.  Time is against them as the artefact can only be fixed during a rare planetary alignment that comes once every 5000 years.  There is only a week left until that alignment occurs.  There are traps, fights, and action galore in this movie and eye popping special effects.

This movie is fast paced, exciting, and has a good story with real characterisation in amongst the eye candy.  It rocks, it rolls, and then picks up the pace.  The locations for this film are pretty unique and the sets are huge and massively detailed.  There is some strong acting in it and some good directing.  It has its own world and a certain flare that is uniquely its own.  If there is any failing it comes from the enhancement upon star Angelina Jolie's chest to make her more in line with the Lara from the video games.  The appliances tend to be obvious in some scenes and on occasion do odd things like get lopsided, or point in odd directions.  Otherwise this is an excellent film with a lot of great action scenes and some really nice fight choreography.
