Jurassic Park III
Jurassic Park III brings palaeontologist Doctor Alan Grant back face
to face with live dinosaurs. He goes on an expedition with a
decidedly odd divorced couple who tells him they are going to fly over
the island where InGen wreaked their havoc with genetically recreated
dinosaurs. Of course there is more than meets the eye and the
plane lands on Ilse Sorna, the second island (and one that Dr. Grant
was never to) and then promptly has an accident stranding five people
on the island. The true reason for the trip was to find the
couple's son who was lost while para-sailing just off of the island
with his mother's boyfriend. Everything that can go wrong does go
wrong but still the group must find the boy and then get off of the
island.
Jurassic Park III is much more like the original film than the last
sequel. It is exciting and the characters are well developed and
the audience is given to feeling the thrills and chills as these
people stumble around fleeing from all manner of nasty carnivorous
dinosaurs. The acting is good, the dialogue was pretty good, and
the dinosaur effects for the most part are top-notch. The
locations were quite nice and the musical score was above average.
This is a very good sequel, and a very good movie on its own not
really requiring any need to have seen the first or second film
although of course I'd recommend seeing the first on its own merits.
