Carnosaur - Roger Corman
Carnosaur is about genetic manipulation at a poultry plant that
yields in the birth of dinosaurs from chickens. Before it can be
stopped a shipment of chickens leaves the plant and with it one of the
eggs that holds a dinosaur. The dinosaur gets loose and begins a
rampage through the area as it feeds and grows. Meanwhile all
over the place people are coming down with a strange fever that seems
to only be affecting the women. Also a government agency is
trying to track down a renowned geneticist that went missing and finds
out she is working at the poultry plant. There's something
more strange going on at that facility than just the dinosaur on the
loose.
Carnosaur is a pure Roger Corman film. It's cheesy, there is
a lot of talking, and some really kookie ideas. The special
effects are not too bad although some of them certainly could have
been done better. The film drags in places, and is generally pretty
mediocre. Not one of the better Corman films. The film is
watchable but not a lot more aside from the occasional spot where it's
worth the bother to heckle.
