The TechStop™ article about the virus creating batteries was recently seen in the episode named above. In it someone tampering with the virus in an attempt to sabotage the work altered the virus in such a way that it became not only dangerous to humans but also contagious. The modified virus took metal from the host and went about its work creating nano-fibre circuits. This lead to small meshes of conductive material through out the victim's skin making them prone to electrocution, especially via lightning strikes due to the reoccurring inclement weather.

Such an application will be important in the creation of nanotechnology-based armour. The source materials for the armour will be provided to the virus that creates the mesh from outside of the host, both because it is safer that way, and the body does not have the correct materials, or enough of them. Such armour will be sub-dermal--which degree remains unseen--so that it is undetectable to touch. It may easily be detected or not depending upon the material used and whether or not it is active or inert. It also, unlike the virus in the Eleventh Hour will not be conductive or at least will dissipate all but the most extreme of purposeful shocks--it will be grounded.
