The Glory Days of Wine and Blood

Once upon a time vampires ruled the world from the shadows. They were power incarnate, possessed of greater strength, faculties, and will. Their will was so strong that others fell in line at their whim, without question, and with no regrets. They mastered not only all around them, but also all within themselves. Everything would have been bliss except for one thing. From their very beginning there was a curse upon them. The curse wormed its tentacles through every fibre of their being and infused their existence with weakness. Since they are all too aware of the curse's induced flaws they work around them.

    The classic vampire powers include:

    • Mesmerism
    • Enhanced strength and reflexes.
    • Immunity to most weapons.
    • Transformation into a mist.
    • Transformation into a bat.
    • Transformation into a wolf.

    The classic vampire weaknesses include:

    • Deadly reaction to sunlight.
    • Killed by a wooden stake through the heart--a big deal when you're otherwise impervious to meaningful harm.
    • Need to sleep on the dirt of their homeland.
    • Defenseless while sleeping--often because they assume their proper dead state.
    • Unable to cross running water by their own will.
    • Restricted nutritional requirement that must be fulfilled.
