Wes Craven's New Nightmare - David Bergantino

David Bergantino brings to paper and the silver screen of the mind the movie Wes Craven's New Nightmare.  The movie is the seventh of the Nightmare on Elm Street series.  Unlike the other sequels to the original slasher starring the man of your darkest dreams, Freddy Kreuger, this film takes a look at the series being just that, a high grossing film franchise.  The film stars Heather Langencamp, Robert Englund, Wes Craven, and Robert Shaye as themselves.  The story revolves around Freddy Kreuger being more than just the creation of a gifted mind of horror.  It involves Freddy's greatest and most diabolic attempt at returning to our reality.

The novelization is a perfect adaption of the movie with a couple of added plot threads that I thought quite complimentary to the theme and the feel of the film (although these threads are not related or a part of the movie script).  The entire movie is there in all of its glory.  The book is more than just the plot and the dialogue, it's the entire experience distilled into words.
