The world was laid to waste when the Hungry God came and circled the globe devouring all in its path. The players are survivors and their new generations living within the belly of the beast. Entire cities were swallowed and turned to jumbled rot. The survivors scavenge and try to build homes and lives. They struggle against the Evergut as its called and other survivors both rivals and dangerous enemies.
The system is task-resolution oriented and uses dice pools. The devoured world was a late medieval Byzantine Empire style world. Fantasy elements are minimal and geared toward the poisonous, hazardous, and dangerous elements of the insides of the Hungry God. The setting is the definition of gritty. It's grim, literally dark, grimy, and a constant struggle.
